Ila Bertie Gooch Fisher

Ila Bertie Gooch Fisher, 89, of Sparta, passed away March 28, 2018, at Saint Thomas Highlands Hospital, in Sparta.
She was born Aug. 2, 1928, in White County, to Bertie Everette Gooch and Effie May Cope Gooch.
Mrs. Fisher worked at the Sparta Shirt Factory, then went to Red Kap where she worked for 34 years before retiring. She loved to quilt, do crafts, put puzzles together, work in her flower garden, and canning.
She was preceded in death by her parents; brother, William Gooch; brother and sister-in-law: Fred and Simone Gooch; a sister, Rose Gooch; an infant brother; and an infant sister.
Survivors include her daughter and son-in-law, Kathy and James Brymer, of Sparta; sister, Wilma (Harold) Cantrell, of Walling; brother, Freeman Gooch, of Sparta; sister-in-law: Miriam Gooch, of Walling; very dear friend, Nina Forsythe, of Sparta; her dear godchildren, R.J. Lee, Bronson Lee, both of Sparta; numerous nieces, nephews, great-nieces, and great-nephews who was very special to her.
Funeral service was 11 a.m., March 3, 2018, at Spring Hill The Baptist Church, with burial in Spring Hill Cemetery. Bro. Alton Marcum officiated.
Matt Cantrell, Jeff Cantrell, Nick Cantrell, Ralph Cantrell, R.J. Lee, Bronson Lee, Dewayne Hutchings, and Russell Gooch served as pallbearers.
Hunter Funeral Home was in charge of arrangements.
