J.H. Christian, 65, of Spencer, passed away Oct. 18, 2005.
Christian was born June 9, 1940, in Van Buren County, to Algie Christian and Hallie Jennings Christian.
He was a member of Bethlehem Church of Christ and had retired as chief of police of Spencer Police Department.
Christian was preceded in death by his parents; wife, Dr. Kathleen Saba Christian; special parents, Herbert and Etta Clendenon; two sisters, Martha Christian and Thelma Christian; brother, Clifton Tip Christian; half-sisters Joann Osborne and Carelyn Sue Christian.
Survivors include two sons and daughters-in-law, Jay E. and Yolanda Christian, of Spencer, R.C. and Michelle Christian, of Quebeck; daughter and son-in-law, Lisa and Terry Cope, of Spencer; grandchildren, Angel Madewell, Elizabeth Cope, Emily Cope, Shelby Christian, Hannah Christian, Katlyn Christian, Mallory Christian, Jay Evan Christian; great-grandchildren, Ashlynn Madewell, Jayden Madewell; brothers and sister-in-law, James Henry and Ada Christian, of Geneva, Ohio, George Christian, of Whiteland, Ind., J.L. Christian, of Doyle; half-brothers, John Charles Christian, of Ashland, Ohio, Algie Earl Christian, of West Virginia; half-sisters, Betty Jean Mefford, of Painesville, Ohio, Marie Hulett, of West Virginia and Alberta Howard, of Spencer.
Services will be 2 p.m., Oct. 20, 2005, at Bethlehem Church of Christ with burial in Spencer Town Cemetery.
Bro. Billy Reed will officiate.
McMinnville Funeral Home is in charge of arrangements.
