James A. Lewis

James A. Lewis, 72, of Algood, passed away Oct. 17, 2003.
Lewis was born Dec. 20, 1930, in Putnam County to Jack Lewis and Pearl Lewis.
He was preceded in death by his parents; three brothers, Webster Lewis, Charles Lewis, Junior Lewis; one sister, Alta Mae Ramsey and first wife, Bernice Irene Lewis.
Survivors include his wife, Estella Lewis, of Algood; daughter and son-in-law, Keith Marie and Tim Farley, of Cookeville; two sons, Jim Connors and his wife, Ronnie, of Clinton, Mich., and Terry Connors, of Baxter; one sister and brother-in-law, Georgia Lewis Sherfy and Howard Sherfy, of Algood; stepchildren, Betty Chambers, of Cookeville, Donnie Mayberry, of Hilham, Ronnie Mayberry, of Algood, Lisa Trudy, of Knoxville, Terry Mayberry, of Virginia and J.R. Lewis, of Cookeville.
Services were at 2 p.m., Oct. 19, 2003, at the Thurman Funeral Home Chapel, with burial in Oaklawn Cemetery. Dan Norton officiated.
Thurman Funeral Home was in charge of arrangements.
