James Carson Slagle

James Carson Slagle, 74, of Cookeville, passed away March 15, 2002.
Slagle was born April 16, 1927, to Thurman and Rebecca Dishman Slagle.
He was a member of Brotherton Free Will Baptist Church. Slagle was a minister and served as pastor for several churches in the area.
Slagle was preceded in death by his parents; his only son, Jimmie Carson Slagle; son-in-law, Al Kujawski; and one brother, Willie Clyde Slagle.
Survivors include his wife, Anne Dell Green Slagle of Cookeville; three daughters and two sons-in-law, Jo Ann and Frank Lucas of Michigan and Jean and Joe Dishman and Sue Kujawski of all of Cookeville; eight grandchildren, Eric Lucas, Scott Lucas, Dawn Lucas, Summer Ferreri all of Michigan, Devin Dishman, Airman Michael Dishman Rebecca Romines, Vikki Roberts all of Cookeville; six great grandchildren, Ashley Dishman, Kristen Dishman, Heather Dishman, Casey Roberts, Austin Montgomery all of Cookeville and Maxwell Lucas of Michigan.
Services were held at 2 p.m., March 18, 2002, at the chapel of Whitson Funeral Home with burial in Algood Cemetery. Rev. Leslie Hickey and Rev. Carson Whitaker officiated.
Whitson Funeral Home in Cookeville was in charge of arrangements.
