James “Jim” Larry Fish

James “Jim” Larry Fish, 52, passed away April 13, 2017, at his home, in Sparta.

Mr. Fish was born Feb. 2, 1965, in Detroit, Michigan, to James Erie Fish and Ruby Joyce Stepp Fish.

He was preceded in death by his father and a brother, Richard Erie Fish.

He loved life. He enjoyed cooking delicious food for family and friends. He passed his love for sports on to his son, James, and his daughter, Erin. He shared his love for music with his daughter, Elyssa. He always had a beautiful smile on his face. But most of all he loved his family, and it showed in the selfless way he lived every day of his life.

Survivors include his son, James Larry Fish II, of Sparta; daughters, Elyssa Renae Fish, Erin Reshae Fish, both of Sparta; mother of his children, Mary Fish, of Sparta; mother, Ruby Joyce Stepp Fish, of Sparta; sisters, Nancy Lee Campbell (Bill), of Oldenburg, Indiana, Catherine (Cathy) Ann Fish Harrington (Michael), of Jupiter, Florida, Rosemary (Rose) Magdalene Fish Greene (Theodore), of Hermitage, Patricia (Patty) Naomi Fish Bilyeu (Mike), of Sparta; brother, Michael “Mike” Stephen Fish (Cathy), of Woodbury, Minnesota; and numerous nieces, nephews, cousins, and friends.

Pallbearers include Mike Bilyeu, Mike Fish, Theo Greene, Randy Lee, Steven Hale and James Fish.

Honorary pallbearers are Ron Roberts and Tim Pryor.

Funeral service will be 11 a.m., April 17, 2017, at Pleasant Hill Baptist Church. Bro. Doug Benningfield will officiate. The family will receive friends 5-8 p.m., April 15, at Thurman Funeral Home, and 10-11 a.m., April 17, at the church.

Thurman Funeral Home is in charge of the arrangements.
