James “Jimmy” Spivey

James “Jimmy” Spivey, 70, of Sparta, passed away Nov. 19, 2017, at Erlanger Medical Center, in Chattanooga.

Born Friday, May 9, 1947, in Cookeville, he was the son of James Spivey and Aline Hall Spivey.

Mr. Spivey was preceded in death by his parents; son, Jimmy Lee Spivey; brothers, Roy, William, Billy, and Robert Spivey; sister, Jean Tehan; and father-in-law, Leeodus Fowler Jr.

Survivors include his wife, Kelly Fowler Spivey; sons, Anthony (Jenny) Spivey, of Michigan, Terry Spivey, of Michigan, Austin (Carly) Spivey, of Cookeville; daughter, Clarissa Spivey, of Michigan; stepchildren, Amanda (Dewayne) Ashburn, of Quebeck Jeff (Candace) Allen, of Cookeville; 15 grandchildren; brothers, Ronnie (Lisa) Spivey, of Texas, Bob and Donnie Spivey, of Cookeville; sisters, Sue (Larry) Sharp, of Baxter, Ann (Richard) Vickroy, of Alabama, Betty Meyers, of Cookeville; mother-in-law,

Bertha Fowler; and several nieces and nephews.

A graveside service will be held at 1 p.m., Dec. 9, 2017, at West Cemetery, in Cookeville. Bro. Nathan Hawkins will officiate.

Crest Lawn Funeral Home, in Cookeville, is in charge of arrangements.
