James Keith Dodson

James Keith Dodson, 68, of Sparta, departed this life while at Saint Thomas Highlands Hospital, on Dec. 21, 2017, and went to be with his Lord and Savior Jesus Christ.

Mr. Dodson was born Feb. 23, 1949, in Cookeville, to James Clodus Dodson and Ida Mae Judd Dodson.

He was a woodworker and built furniture. He was an avid Atlanta Braves fan.

Mr. Dodson was preceded in death by his parents; an infant brother, Anthony Bruce Dodson; and two nephews, James Albert Boldin and Anthony Billy Boldin.

Survivors include his dearest friend and caregiver of 26 years, Becky Marshall; three sisters, Paulette Henry, Brenda Boldin, Treva Brown; brother, Harold (Janice) Dodson; two sons, James Patrick Dodson, Billy Gene Dodson; and several grandchildren, nieces, nephews, friends, and loved ones.

Funeral service was 11 a.m., Dec. 23, 2017, at Hunter Funeral Home, with burial in Lower Board Valley Cemetery. Bro. Elmore Judd officiated.

Buck Marshall, Joel Brown, John Brown, Jimmy Brown, Trenton Mooneyham and Chris Palmer served as pallbearers. Honorary pallbearers were Ed Brown and Ed Miller.

Memorials may be made to Hunter Funeral Home, P.O. Box 90, Sparta, Tennessee 38583 to help the Dodson family with funeral expenses.

Hunter Funeral Home was in charge of arrangements.
