Jeffery Lynn Cole, 58, passed from this life, on May 6, 2019, at home, from an extended illness.

Mr. Cole was born Aug. 13, 1960, to  Glen “Red” Cole and Clara Bethene Bayless Cole.

He was a native of Van Buren County and a lifelong resident. He was known to his co-workers and friends as “Cobb.” He was a Critical Care Paramedic with White County Emergency Medical Service, a Mason, and he volunteered with Spencer Fire Department. He was of the Baptist faith.

Mr. Cole was preceded in death by his parents and his brother-in-law, Kevin Bouldin.

Survivors include his loving wife, Cheryl Bouldin Cole, of Spencer; son, Cody Dylan Cole, of Spencer; daughter, Carly Leighann Cole, of Spencer; brother, Allen Dale Cole, of Spencer; sister, Sonja Glenece Cole, of Spencer; father-in-law and mother-in-law, Noble and Wanda Bouldin, of Spencer; and sister-in-law, Jill Bouldin and her children Lakelyn and Layla, of Spencer; and a large extended family.

Special family friends were Eddie Howard and the late Roger Miller and his wife, April. Special mention to his EMS family and all emergency personnel.

Funeral service will be 2 p.m., May 9, 2019, at Layne Chapel, with burial in Cummingsville Cemetery. Bro. R.C. Christian and Chad Martin will officiate. Visitation will be 1-9 p.m., May 8, and 9-10 a.m., May 9, at the funeral home.

Pallbearers will be Basil Timoschuk, Chris Russell, Lonnie Laxton, Jimmy Savage, James Allen, and Colton Simmons.

Honorary pallbearers will be Mr. Cole’s EMS family, law enforcement, and Van Buren County fire departments.

Layne Funeral Home in Spencer is in charge of arrangements.
