Karen Morgan, also known as Karen the Clown, has been “clowning around” since 1980. She explained that her father was a clown for the Detroit Fire Department in Michigan and he is the one who inspired her to become a clown herself.

“My dad was a clown,” said Morgan. “We did ballgames, hospitals, and Thanksgiving Day parades.”

Morgan stated when she decided to move to Tennessee, she decided to carry on the tradition. Currently a manager at Floyd’s Cash Saver, she said this is the first time she has been Karen the Clown in many years. She went on to say that her employees asked her to do it, and she couldn’t say no.

“I loved the parties, the classroom parties,” said Morgan. “I also did the bumbling magician where I would mess up all the magic tricks. It was fun.”

She does not have a website or Facebook page for the clown, and, when asked if she plans to bring Karen the Clown back for good, she simply said,

“I’ll give it some thought.”
