Kim Agatha Mitchell, 91, passed from this life, on May 11, 2019.
She was a beloved wife, selfless mother, grandmother, and great-grandmother. She devoted her life to caring for and supporting her family. She was a devout member of the Catholic Church and attended St. Andrew Catholic Church, in Sparta. Her love of her family and God was a constant throughout her life.
Mrs. Mitchell was born Dec. 13, 1928, in South Korea, and moved to Arkansas where she attended nursing school. She met and married her husband, Dana E. Mitchell, in Fort Smith, Arkansas. Always the supportive military wife, she travelled with her husband during his service. They were blessed with two sons, Jim and John, during this time. After retirement from the military, the family settled in Deltona, Florida, where she continued to raise her sons, support her husband, and form many lifelong friendships. Later in life, she moved to Tennessee with her husband and continued her love and support of her family and faithfulness to the Catholic Church.
She was preceded in death by her parents; brother; and a grandson, Cameron Mitchell.
Survivors include her husband, Dana E. Mitchell; sons and daughters-in-law, Jim and Tonya Mitchell, John and Heather Mitchell; granddaughters, Jenna Anderson, Gillian Mitchell, Alexa Mitchell; grandsons, Daniel Mitchell, Ethan Hyder; and great-grandchild, Cameron Anderson.
Mrs. Mitchell and the family had chosen cremation and a private ceremony.
Oak Lawn Funeral Home is in charge of arrangements.
