Rotary Club of Sparta invited Brenda T. Knox, principal of Doyle Elementary School, to talk about the Reward School program awarded recently.

Recently, Education Commissioner Candice McQueen announced, “Tennessee’s 2017 Reward schools, which include the top 5 percent of schools for academic achievement and the top 5 percent for student growth. These 169 schools span 60 districts across Tennessee.” Doyle Elementary School is one of 85 state schools recognized for student progress.

“Our faculty’s achievement is a result of teamwork and dedication to our student’s growth and progress,” Knox said. “And if I could choose one criteria, it would be our students’ growth.”

Knox went on to describe how important it is to advance the student to the next level and for that child to be at grade level rather than having to catch up with their peers.
