Lenell Stoglin, 84, of Sparta, passed away June 7, 2018, at Life Care Center of Sparta.
Mr. Stoglin was born June 27, 1933, in White County, to late Hamp Stoglin and Mammie Smith Stoglin.
His work career included carpentry, manufacturing, and part-time farming. Mr. Stoglin was a member of Bethel Free Will Baptist Church. He was an avid hunter and loved to fish with his wife, Helen, and the kids and later the grandchildren.
Mr. Stoglin was preceded in death by his parents; his wife of 61 years, Helen Tollison Stoglin; sisters Maude Cole, Jessie Mae Massa; and brothers, Carl Stoglin, Carson Stoglin, Fred Stoglin, and Kenneth Stoglin.
Survivors include his daughter, Sherry Howard and husband Rob, of Sparta; son Dennis Stoglin and wife Lauri, of Sparta; three grandsons, Travis Howard and wife Macee, Matthew Howard, Jacolby Stoglin; two granddaughters, Brianna Selby and husband Kirk, Allison Stoglin; great-granddaughter, Hayden Selby; and numerous nieces and nephews.
Funeral service will be 2 p.m., June 10, 2018, at Hunter Funeral Home, with burial in Elrod Cemetery. The family will receive friends noon-2 p.m., June 10, at the funeral home. Brother Danny Bandy will officiate.
Hershel Blaylock, Wendell Dyer, Freeman Allison, Gerald Fisher, Charlie Tollison, and Jeff Stoglin will serve as pallbearers.
The family extends their thanks and appreciation to Life Care Center of Sparta staff for the love and support during the past months.
