“Libraries Rock!” summer reading program in progress

Two hundred eighty one children showed up at the First United Methodist Church, at 23 N. Church St. in Sparta, on June 7, to join The Blue Buccaneers for singing pirate songs and reading.
“Libraries Rock!” summer reading programs will take place at 10 a.m., every Thursday, through the end of July, at the same location mentioned above. The schedule is as follows:
- June 14-Jeff Robbins Mountain Music
- June 21-WCPL Puppet Show
- June 28-Hampstead Stage Company
- July 5-NHECM Animals
- July 12-Farmer Jason
- July 19-Making Waves: The science of sound
- July 26-Water fun day
Each event will be followed by a free lunch for all youth 18 and under, which is provided by the White County School Nutrition Summer Reading Program. For any questions about the summer reading program, please call Dana Gorter at the White County Public Library, (931) 836-3613.
