Milan Zedlar, 85, of Sparta, passed away Sept. 5, 2002.
Zedlar was born Jan. 5, 1917, in Cleveland, Ohio, to Stephen “Tom” and Mary Katie Zedlar.
He was a 32nd Degree Mason and Scottish Rites, a member of Al Koran Shrine in Cleveland and the Lions Club of Kernersville, N.C. Zedlar was founder and president of Kirtland Machine Tool Co. of Kirtland, Ohio, and the owner and president of Smith Armstrong Forge and Heat Treat of Cleveland.
Zedlar was preceded in death by his parents; one grandson, Jeffrey Glen Kile; and one sister, Eileen Zedlar.
Survivors included his wife of 62 years, Lillian Helen Munz Zedlar of Sparta; one daughter, Nancy Kile of Cookeville; one son-in-law, Glen Kile of North Carolina; one sister, Doris Lombardo of Miami, Fla.; one brother, George Zedlar of Cleveland, Ohio; one granddaughter and her husband, Kori and Todd Myers; and one great granddaughter, Reagan Mackenzie Meyers.
Services were held at 3 p.m., Sept. 8, 2002, at the chapel of Hooper-Huddleston & Horner Funeral Home in Cookeville. Rev. Roger Cooper officiated.
