Paul Richard Gilreath, 77, of Sparta, passed away Oct. 27, 2016, at Cookeville Regional Medical Center.
Mr. Gilreath was born Feb. 11, 1939, in Ten Mile, Tennessee, to William Gilreath and Evelyn Carter Gilreath.
He was a retired administrative foreman at Kingston Timers, in Smithville. Mr. Gilreath was a disabled U.S. veteran. He was of the Baptist faith.
Mr. Gilreath was preceded in death by his parents; his wife’s parents, the Rev. Tomie Vaughn and Verna Vaughn; four sisters, Mary Jones, Beatrice Grisby, Thelma White, Rosia Ward; and five brothers, Porter Gilreath, Raymond Gilreath, Charles Gilrath, Troy Gilreath and Cullum Gilreath.
Survivors include his wife of 52 years, Betty Vaughn Gilreath, of Sparta; sister and brother-in-law, Mae And Ray Conant, of Sparta; three brothers and two sisters-in-law, Bobby and Mabel Gilreath, of Crossville, Kenneth and Charlotte Gilreath, of Sparta, William Gilreath, of Sparta; two sisters-in-law, Virginia Gilreath, of Hillsboro, Morell Gilreath, of Lafayette; special friend and caregiver, Felecia Yates; nieces, Amber Yates, Kayla Vaughn; nephew, Brian Vaughn; and several other nieces and nephews.
Funeral service was 3 p.m., Oct. 30, 2016, at Goff Funeral Home, in Monterey, with burial in Welch Memorial Cemetery. The Rev. Tex Boles officiated. Full military honors were conducted the Veterans Honor Guard.
Goff Funeral Home, in Monterey, was in charge of arrangements.
