What was once the site of an old abandoned commercial trucking terminal is starting to see new life as building construction continues to move forward.
In June of this year, the demolition and cleanup of the old DCI Transportation terminal, on Roberts-Matthews Highway, began to make room for new construction. By the beginning of July 2017, the once abandoned property that sat idle for years was minus its old structure, as groundwork began for a new commercial building.
Charles Bailey (CB) Trucking, a White County trucking company also located on Roberts-Matthews Highway, has been in the transportation industry for over 26 years and took over the ownership of the former DCI Transportation property. CB Trucking has been busy redeveloping the property to fit the growing needs of its company.
Construction crews have been prepping the site and have recently begun construction on the new commercial building that will be utilized by CB Trucking, which provides premier freight transportation services as well as logistical operations.
Potter Freight Lines was the original occupant of the former DCI Transportation property. In later years, the property also served as the home for Service Transport.
This commercial construction project joins one of several that have taken place during 2017, in White County.
