Results from Sonic Shootout Day 1

The Sonic Shootout got underway Wednesday at Roy Sewell Gymnasium with eight games.
Both the Warriors and Warriorettes earned spots in the semifinals with opening round wins.
The Warriors defeated David Crockett High School 60-27 behind a 22 point performance by Kane Young. That win advances the WCHS boys into the semifinals against East Limestone, Alabama, a 64-58 opening round winner over Gallatin. The Warriors take on the out-of-state visitors Thursday at 7:30 p.m.
The Warriorettes advanced to the semifinals with a 69-40 win over Fairhope, Alabama. Kelsey Roberts led the way with 20 points followed by Allyson Quillen with 16 and Loren Foster with 14. The WCHS girls will take on McMinn County Thursday at 6 p.m. in the semifinals. McMinn advanced with a 63-60 win over Dobyns-Bennett.
Other first round scores:
Girls – Blackman defeated Cumberland County 68-46; Clarkrange edged Grundy County 49-43.
Boys – Cumberland County defeated Franklin County 73-58; Lebanon defeated Howard 64-61.
Thursday’s schedule goes as follows”
9 a.m. – Cumberland County vs. Grundy County (Girls)
10:30 a.m. – Franklin County vs. Howard (Boys)
Noon – Blackman vs. Clarkrange (Girls)
1:30 p.m. – Cumberland County vs. Lebanon (Boys)
3 p.m. – Fairhope vs. Dobyns-Bennett (Girls)
4:30 p.m. – David Crockett vs. Gallatin (Boys)
6 p.m. – White County vs. McMinn Co. (Girls)
7:30 p.m. – White County vs. East Limestone (Boys)
