Richard Keith Howard

Richard Keith Howard, 79, of Birmingham, Alabama, formerly of White County, passed away Aug. 31, 2018, in Birmingham.

Mr. Howard was born Aug. 14, 1939, in Detroit, Michigan, to Richard Herbert Howard and Willie Mozell Sullivan Howard. He was a cross-country truck driver for 48 years. He was a ham radio operator and an avid University of Tennessee fan.

Survivors include his wife of almost 57 years, Linda McCoy Howard, of Birmingham; daughter, Lynn Howard Ford and husband Ralph, of Nashville; two sisters, Nelda Young and husband James, Ruth Saylors and husband Bobby, all of Sparta; sister-in-law, Sherian McCoy Oakley, of Tullahoma; nephews, J.R. Young, Tyson Sparkman; and nieces, April Saylors and Bria Oakley.

Funeral service was 3 p.m., Sept. 3, 2018, at Hunter Funeral Home, with burial in Plainview Cemetery, in Cassville. Brice Murphy officiated.

Funeral arrangements were entrusted to Hunter Funeral Home.

    I want to extend my deepest sympathy, my thoughts and prayers go to Linda and all the family. RK and my late husband Bill were great trucking pals for many years, they are still talking driving in Heaven I bet! RK was a great friend, he will be missed. sincerely Diane Price Bash
