Farley gets academic honors

Region 4-5A released their All Region football team at the start of the week.

The coaches of the region got together at the end of the regular season to vote on the superlatives from the region for this season.

With a region that was made up of seven deeply athletic teams, being named for postseason honors is quite an accomplishment.

WCHS had just two players named to the All Region team and another one named to the All Academic team.

Kolter Howard and Chris Richmond garnered All Region honors and Austin Farley received academic honors.

Kolter Howard was a senior linebacker for the Warriors this season and led the team in tackles. He recorded 79 stops for the team this season.

The other Warrior All Region player was a force for WCHS on offense. Chris Richmond led the team in rushing and in touchdowns scored this season. The junior running back surpassed the 1,000-yard mark for the season despite playing in one of the toughest regions in the state. Richmond carried the ball 238 times for 1,155 yards and 12 touchdowns. He added another touchdown receiving as he caught nine passes for 50 yards. He also completed one pass for a touchdown.
