Rita Lois Slatten England

Rita Lois Slatten England, 62, of Quebeck, passed away Sept. 29, 2018, at her residence.

Mrs. England was born Feb. 24, 1956, in Sparta, to Glenn Slatten and Marie Swindell Slatten.

She had a career in banking that spanned 37 years, from Commerce Union Bank to Bank of White County. Mrs. England was an active member of Hickory Valley Baptist Church and her community, serving on the Chamber of Commerce Board, Christmas in April, Backpack Ministries, and Meals on Wheels, and helping re-establish the Lions Club. She loved traveling, whether it was on a church mission trip or vacationing with family.

Survivors include her husband of 44 years, H.L. England; daughters, Carol Marie McEntyre and husband Michael, Heather Alayne Mullins and husband Chris; grandchildren, Aiden Mullins, Nathan McEntyre, Marin McEntrye; and father, Glenn Slatten.

Funeral service will be 7 p.m., Sept. 30, 2018, at Hickory Valley Baptist Church (5865 Hickory Valley Road, Sparta). Burial will be 11 a.m., Oct. 1, at Jericho Cemetery (1825 Jericho Road, Quebeck). The family will receive friends 3-7 p.m., Sept. 30, at the church. Carol McEntyre, Michael McEntyre, Doug Benningfield, Joe B. England, and Bransford England will officiate.

Jim Floyd, Flavy Miller, Steven Lowery, Josh England, Joseph Matlock, and Alex Savage will serve as pallbearers.

In lieu of flowers, memorials may be made to Jericho Cemetery in care of Hunter Funeral Home P.O. Box 90, Sparta, Tennessee 38583.

The family wants to express their deepest gratitude to Hickory Valley Baptist Church, Bank of White County, and the host of friends and family who have offered their love and support these last few years.
