Senior Circle is sponsoring a craft show Nov. 4 at Sparta Civic Center, and the event will showcase a wide array of hand made gift ideas including jewelry, needlework, hand-painted items, Christmas ornaments, and wood carvings and burnings.
Among the artists selling crafts is Frank Beverly.
Beverley moved to Doyle seven years ago from Aurora, Ill., and he is a three-year employee of White County Community Hospital. He took up wood carving and burning as a hobby a few years ago.
Beverley typically uses wood from around the Sparta area, and he enjoys making spiritual plaques, wall hangings and stand-alone pieces. His wife Sharon hand paints some of the pieces.
“We want to give our seniors the opportunity to come and show off their crafts and to buy things for Christmas gifts,” said Rebecca Young, Senior Circle director.
The show is open to the public, and everyone is invited to participate in the event.
“If anyone is interested in selling their crafts and being a part of this show, we encourage them to call,” said Young.
Booth space can be obtained for $20 and includes an 8-foot table.
The event will be 8 a.m.-4 p.m., Nov. 4, 2006, at Sparta Civic Center.
For more information about the event or to secure table space contact Sharon Beverly at 657-8203.
