It’s Halloween time again, and that means kids will be trick-or-treating. White County Sheriff Department would like to offer up the following safety advice to parents, guardians and children’s loved ones.
•Children should wear reflective clothing while trick-or-treating and/or carry a flashlight so they will be well lit
•Inspect treats. Do not eat open candy and treats. Throw them away.
•Be mindful of traffic and your surroundings. Don’t dart out into traffic. Have an adult or parent with you.
The days are shorter and the nights are getting longer, so please be mindful of children in the roadway. If you are out walking, wear light, not dark clothing. The mornings are foggy. Be aware of children at the bus stops.
White County Sheriff Department wishes everyone a safe and happy Halloween.
