Sherry M. Baker

Sherry M. Baker, 51, of Augusta, Georgia, formerly of Sparta, Tennessee, passed away June 17, 2018.

Ms. Baker was born Feb. 6, 1967, in Dayton, Ohio, to Marita Ann Gross and Arles R. Baker.

She grew up in White County and was a White County High School graduate. For years, Sherry was a dedicated worker of the Richmond County Board of Education, in Georgia, later retiring due to health issues. Regardless of her health, Ms. Baker always kept a smile on her face and love in her heart.

She was proceeded in death by her mother, Marita A. Gross; maternal grandparents, Herbert and Lois Gross; and paternal grandparents, Arvil and Allie Baker.

Survivors include her three children, Richard (30), LaTasha (28), and Derek (16), of the Augusta, Georgia area; sisters Michelle Gross Edenfield, of Georgia, Dana Baker Riddle, of Cookeville; two brothers, Gregory Hardin, of Dayton, Ohio, Alan Baker, of Sparta; and father, Arles Baker, of Sparta.

Her memorial service will be 10 a.m.-noon, June 26, 2018, at the Thomas L. King Funeral Home, in Augusta, Georgia. Following the service, there will be a reception for family and friends, 2-4 p.m., at the Minnick Park Community Center.

A special thanks to the staff of DaVita Dialysis Center and the Thomas L. King Funeral Home for their generosity and care of such a beautiful soul.

She will be remembered in our hearts forever.
