Keely Cunningham get a hit in Friday night’s championship game.

On Friday night, the first year of the Girls 7-10 Minor League division came to a close. The championship game saw top seed Sonic take on number three seed Ben Lomand.

The game was close throughout. Sonic would take an early 1-0 lead, with Taylor McDonald scoring the first run of the game. Sonic would extend their lead in the second inning to 3-0 when Sara Phillips and Ava Sparkman would both score. Ben Lomand would cut into the Sonic lead in the third inning, though, with Angel Clark coming in to score the first run of the game for Ben Lomand to cut the lead to 3-1. However, that’s as close as it would get, as Ava Sparkman would come around to score in the bottom of the fourth inning to push the lead to 4-1, and that would be the final.

Lilly Parker, Taylor McDonald, Ava Sparkman, and Lexi Maples would finish the game with two hits for Sonic. Keely Cunningham, Anita Hartman, Sara Phillips, Emma Wilson, and Sadie Carpenter would all get a hit.

For Ben Lomand, Kaydee Stockton would finish the game with two hits, and Angel Clark, Lyndee Savage, and Cam Caldwell would end with a hit.
