Sonic Shootout final day match-ups set

The Warriorettes will take on undefeated Cannon County in the girls' championship game at 7:30 p.m. Wednesday in Roy Sewell Gymnasium.

The match-ups for the final day of the 2009 Sonic Shootout are finalized.
The Warriorettes advanced to the championship game with a 58-44 win over Sevier County Tuesday night at Roy Sewell Gymnasium. The senior duo of Jessica Wilson and Aubrey Sims combined for 38 points to lead WCHS to the victory.
Their opponent in the girls’ title game, which will be played at 7:30 p.m. Wednesday, is Cannon County, a 58-53 winner over Franklin County.
Franklin County and Sevier County will square off at 1:30 p.m. in the girls’ consolation game.
Daniel Boone and Sevier County boys’ will battle it out in the boys’ championship game, set for a 6 p.m. tip time on Wednesday. Daniel Boone defeated Cannon County 55-52 to earn a spot in the title game. Sevier County defeated McMinn County 56-38 in the other semifinal game. McMinn and Cannon will meet at noon in the third place consolation contest.
The fifth place girls’ game will feature McMinn County against Science Hill at 4:30 p.m. McMinn defeated Daniel Boone 54-36 on Tuesday. Science Hill was a 62-31 winner over DeKalb County.
DeKalb and Science Hill will play at 10:30 a.m. in the seventh place game.
The fifth place boys’ game will be between the Warriors of White County High School and Gallatin. The Warriors defeated Franklin County 63-58 on Tuesday led by the 15 points of junior guard, Jordan Armstrong. Gallatin was a 70-48 winner over DeKalb County. The fifth place game is set for a 3 p.m. tip off.
DeKalb County and Franklin County will meet at 9 a.m. in the seventh place game.
