Sonic wraps up perfect season with win in girls’ senior division

Friday night was championship night at the Smithville fields. In the girls’ senior division, it came down to the final inning to decide the winner. However, Sonic would sweep both the regular season and tournament championships in the division. Sonic would win the championship game over Calfkiller Brewing Company 5-4.

The championship game was close throughout, with neither team able to break the scoreless tie until the third inning when Sonic would get on the board. Abigayle, Lita, and Abby would all score in the inning to give Sonic a 3-0 lead. In the top of the fourth inning, CalfKiller would make a comeback score three times. Chloe, Hannah Kate, and Dani would all score to tie the game up at 3-3. CalfKiller would take the lead in the top of the fifth inning when Zoey would come around to score to give Calfkiller the lead 4-3. However, the lead wouldn’t last long as Ashlynn and Abigayle would both come around to score for Sonic in the bottom of the fifth inning to give Sonic the lead 5-4 and that would be the final.

Abigayle would lead the way for Sonic, as she would go 2-3 at the plate with two runs scored. Abby would also add a hit for Sonic.

Zoey, Chloe, Lordis, and Sydney would all get hits for Calfkiller Brewing.
