Sparta Green Market sets signup deadline for participating vendors

The Sparta Green Market announces that all vendors must have completed and submitted a vendor’s application no later than 10 days before the market opens.
The non-profit 2017 Sparta Green Market’s season officially begins 4-7 p.m., on May 19, 2017, Metcalf Park, near Liberty Square. The cutoff signup date for the May 19 market is May 10, 2017. All vendors must have completed and submitted a vendor’s application no later than 10 days before the market opens every third Friday, May to October. One application is good for all 2017 market events.
Clicking here will take the vendor to an online application or email email@example.com. For the 2017 season, there is no fee for a booth. The Sparta Green Market does not accept applications from craft vendors or re-sellers as the emphasis is on locally grown produce, plants/flowers, and meat.
Margaret Petre, event chair and founder, says, “The 2016 season was a success with every booth filled, and we look forward to a successful 2017 season. It is extremely important to complete the application and to follow guidelines as set by the Tennessee Department of Agriculture.”
According to TDA, acceptable farm products include, but are not limited to: farm produce, plants, eggs, honey, meat, cheese, decorative gourds, herbs, animal fibers and cut flowers.
The Sparta Green Market is the perfect way for growers who have seasonal plants, vegetables, meat, fruits, and flowers to meet hungry consumers in an entertaining atmosphere.
“The Sparta Green Market already has commitments from around 40 quality vendors who are looking forward to a great evening in Sparta,” said PEtre. “Restaurants, including Holy Cow onsite, will be open for dining, as well as merchants, including Jongee’s, Fragrant Mushroom, The Berry Basket, and Xceed Limitz Printing. Look for the green balloons in front of participating businesses.”
