Sparta-White County Chamber of Commerce hosted their first awards dinner at Duck Pond Manor complete with guest Master of Ceremonies Phillip Gibbons of Zimmer Broadcasting and entertainment from special guests the Ladies for Liberty.
Gibbons announced the new board members, Maryangela Rippberger, of the Coffee Collective; Richard Tumlin, of Saint Thomas Highlands Hospital; and Robert Verble, of First National Bank. He also recognized the previous board members Cherri McNeil (Fragrant Mushroom), Diana Verble (ERG Realty), and Rebecca Young (Life Care Center of Sparta), and Young ceremoniously passed the gavel to incoming Chairman of the Board David Vaughn, of Ben Lomand Connect.

With 150 tickets sold, the Chamber far exceeded their expectations for their first event of this kind.
“Great crowd, smiling faces, outstanding entertainment!” Chamber President Marvin Bullock said, and added, “Kudos to board committee members David Vaughn, Cherri McNeil, Misty Allen, and, of course, the Chamber’s event-planner extraordinaire, Jenny Dale, for making the First [Annual] Chamber Awards Dinner a smashing success.”
“To say wow about this event is definitely an understatement,” said Jenny Dale. “The ‘bar’ has been set, and we are so proud. It was absolutely amazing thanks to our members, sponsors, event committee, and community. We are looking forward to 2019 and all it has to offer.”
