A wide range of employers, in Van Buren County and from across the Upper Cumberland region, participated in the Spencer job fair.

The recent multi-employer City of Spencer job fair was deemed a success as over 100 job seekers met with numerous hiring employers.

On May 3, 2018, the City of Spencer hosted its second multi-employer hiring event at the Yvonna-Sutton Fair Building. A wide range of employers, in Van Buren County and from across the Upper Cumberland region, participated in the event that saw numerous job seekers attend.

Some of the employers that were on hand for the event included SunKote Coatings, Acurment Global, Tennessee Department of Correction, Metro Staffing, Generations, and Tri-Star Distribution. Excel Temporary Service, Jackson Kayak, Sea Star Solutions, UPS, Bridgstone, Averitt, Precision Molding and THK Rhythm were on hand to meet with potential employees.

“We had a great crowd of people who came out and attended the job fair,” stated City of Spencer Mayor Mickey Robinson. “ We opened up at 10 a.m., and by 10:30 a.m. we had already seen 30 people meet with the employers we had here. The job fair was a great success, and we are thankful for all those who participated – both employers and those looking for work.”

For those who could not attend the hiring event sponsored by the City of Spencer, the participating employers who attended this event are still accepting applications at their respective locations.
