Sue Howell Sherod

Sue Howell Sherod, 81 of Ormond Beach, Florida, formerly of White County, passed away Aug. 29, 2018, at Halifax Hospice, in Daytona, Florida.

Mrs. Sherod was born April 22, 1937, in Sparta. She was the youngest and last surviving child of 13 born to Robert Gaither Howell and Mary Lue Carter Howell.

She was a former waitress and worked as a carhop when she met her husband. Sue retired as a machine operator for a paper bag manufacturer. She loved to travel to Las Vegas, play bingo at home, and was a talented cook.

Surviving family members include her husband of 57 years Roger H. Sherod, of Ormond Beach, Florida; two daughters, Carol (Mike) Floyd, of Dayton, Ohio, Tonya Creditt, of Hot Springs, Arkansas; son, Brett (Beth) Sherod, of Meridian, Idaho; grandchildren, Austin Sherod, Wyatt Sherod, Emily Sherod, Andy Creditt, Jennifer Curtis, Josh Floyd; four great-grandchildren; special friends, Judy Goodwin, Jacky Martin; and numerous nieces and nephews.

Funeral service will be 1 p.m., Sept. 5, 2018, at Hunter Funeral Home, with burial in Carter Cemetery. The family will receive friends 11 a.m.-1 p.m., Sept. 5, at the funeral home.

Austin Sherod, Wyatt Sherod, Randy Wilkerson, Gary Goodwin, Josh Floyd, Lynn Bullock, Larry Dilldine, and Lou Martin will serve as pallbearers.

Funeral arrangements are entrusted to Hunter Funeral Home.
