The school calendar may show vacation right now for the students. But for the White County High School football team, the only thing that is missing right now is the classes. While wins and losses are not officially recorded during the summer, the path to getting there is established during these “off” months. The Warrior football team is one of the teams working this off-season with a sense of urgency. The season opener is just a little over two months away, and there is plenty of work to be done to get ready to hit the field. Coach Jerry Lowery has the team working out at 8 a.m., four days a week, and they are going through some rigorous weight lifting and conditioning. They will wrap up this portion of their drills, on June 24, when dead period officially begins. (By Andy Southard)

Warriors’ assistant football coach Steve Wilson looks on as the Warriors run their routes, on Tuesday morning.

New Warrior football assistant coach Gregg Segraves is going to be over the Warriors’ quarterback and running backs this off-season.
