State Senator Paul Bailey (R-Sparta) announced today that White County will be awarded a $15,000 ThreeStar Competitive Grant from the Tennessee Department of Economic and Community Development. ThreeStar grants are used for a variety of local programs focused on economic development, public safety, health, education and workforce development.
White County will utilize the grant funds for entrepreneurship and workforce development.
“I am very pleased that White County has received these funds in a very competitive grant program,” said Bailey. “Congratulations to our local officials for a successful application. I am sure it will be helpful in our efforts for improvement and was happy to support it.”
In total, TNECD is awarding $955,000 to 60 Tennessee communities through this round of the ThreeStar Grant program. The projects are new programs or expand upon existing programs. All are based on the communities’ ThreeStar planning process.
