Toledo Byrd, 61, of Dowelltown, passed away Dec. 9, 2017, at her residence.
She was born Jan.10, 1956, to Melvin Edward Byrd and Gladys Alberta Adamson Byrd.
Ms. Byrd was a Pentecostal and worked as a switchboard operator with the Veterans Administration.
She was preceded in death by her parents; two sisters, Dean Yaney, Vetrice Cook; one brother, Clay Byrd; two brothers-in-law, Marvin Yaney, Billy Cook Sr.; and one sister-in-law, Linda Byrd.
Survivors include three children, Melvin (Shelia) McCloud, of McMinnville, Todd McCloud, of Smithville, Tolesha Suggs, of Sparta; seven grandchildren, Brett Earls, Tyler, Logan and Lexi McCloud, Conner, Cadance and Jieseyn “Jiebo” Suggs; two great-grandchildren, Addyson and Melody Earls; two brothers, Jerry Byrd, of Dowelltown, Frosty Byrd, of Smithville; special caregiver and cousin, Penny Martin and Alexis Bennett; and several nieces and nephews.
Funeral service will be 11 a.m., Dec. 13, 2017, at DeKalb Funeral Chapel, in Smithville, with burial in Poplar Hill Cemetery, in Watertown. Connie Brown will officiate. Visitation will be 2-8 p.m., Dec. 12, and 9-11 a.m., Dec. 13, at the funeral home.
