A traffic collision involving multiple vehicles caused a temporary lane closure on Highway 111 resulting in short delays as emergency services worked the scene of the incident.
On April 6, at approximately 11:19 a.m., dispatchers with the White County E-911 Communications Center received notification of a possible collision on Highway 111 near the intersection of Valley View Drive and Millers Point Road. According to initial reports received by White County E-911 dispatchers, the incident involved two vehicles with possible injuries and occurred on the northbound side on Highway 111 near the Royal Inn motel and White County school bus garage area.
The Sparta Fire Department, Sparta-White County Rescue Squad, White County Emergency Medical Service, and Sparta Police Department were all dispatched to the scene of the incident.
Upon arrival, first responders discovered a white Jeep SUV at the Highway 111 and Millers Point Road intersection with front-end damage. Additionally, a white Ford Ranger truck was also located down an embankment along the northbound side of Highway 111.
Given the location of the incident, personnel with the Sparta-White County Rescue Squad and Sparta Fire Department closed the right lane on the northbound side of Highway 111 in order to secure the scene, while first responders worked the incident and rendered aid to all those involved.
The Sparta Police Department is in charge of investigating this incident. Currently there is no additional information available for this collision.
