Brief pursuit resulted in the arrest of two subjects and the removal of a firearm and methamphetamine

Officers from the White County Sheriff’s Department, U.S. Marshal’s Office, and the Tennessee Highway Patrol were recently involved in a brief pursuit that resulted in the apprehension of two subjects and the removal of methamphetamine and a firearm.

The Expositor/SpartaLive.com was notified at approximately 3:30 p.m. regarding multiple patrol vehicles in a field beside Wal-Mart on Sam Walton Drive in Sparta.

According to information released by White County E-911 Communications Center, dispatchers were notified on Feb. 12 at approximately 2:29 p.m. that all officers with the White County Sheriff’s Department were placed on “Special Assignment”. At approximately 3:15 p.m., dispatchers were notified that officers were in position and had made contact with a sliver Ford Mustang with Georgia Tags and officers were advised to establish a perimeter to “block in” the vehicle.

According to an official with the White County Sheriff’s Department, the department was given a tip that a male subject with active warrants out of White and Hamilton County was reportedly going to be in Sparta today, Feb. 12, potentially at Wal-Mart. Officers with White County Sheriff’s Department and U.S. Marshal’s Office established a perimeter with the intent of capturing the reported male fugitive.

At approximately 3:15 p.m., the subject’s vehicle was spotted and officers were able to set up a perimeter in an attempt to apprehend the subject. Reportedly, the subject then attempted to flee from the officers and drove the vehicle around the Wal-Mart parking lot, behind the building, and then drove the vehicle into a nearby field.

Officers pursued the subject’s vehicle into the field where the driver ultimately crashed in the woods, according to an official with the White County Sheriff’s Department. Two subjects, a male driver and a female passenger, abandoned the vehicle and attempted to flee from the scene.

Officers with the White County Sheriff’s Department, the U.S. Marshal’s Office, and the Tennessee Highway Patrol then pursued the subjects on foot. Two K-9 units were on the scene and were used to successfully track down both subjects.

The female subject, who hasn’t been identified to The Expositor, was reportedly apprehended within 200 yards of the vehicle heading towards a residential area on Sullivan Knowles Road. The male subject, Ronnie Dishman, was apprehended near the Warrior Skate Center, which is located on the opposite side of Highway 111.

According to an official with the White County Sheriff’s Department, a shotgun with ammunition was recovered from the vehicle, along with an ounce of what is suspected to be methamphetamine. Both subjects are facing multiple felony charges.

Further details regarding this incident will be posted on SpartaLive.com when they are made available.
