Shelby Johnson and Cameron Bruce, pictured above with WCHS golf coach, Eric Mitchell, both played their way into a berth in the Class AAA state golf tournament.

For the fourth consecutive year, White County High School will have a representative at the Class AAA state golf tournament.
In fact, for the second year in a row, there will be two WCHS golfers at the event.
Shelby Johnson will make her second straight trip to the state.  Johnson shot a 79 Thursday at Riverwatch in the Region 3AAA tournament to earn one of the individual spots.  Johnson, a junior, was the second lowest finisher in the girls’ field behind Warren County’s Hannah Powell, who shot a 77.
Cameron Bruce, a WCHS freshman, shot a 78, which was good enough for fourth overall and earned him one of the four individual spots in the state.  Bruce just narrowly missed out on qualifying last year as a freshman.
The state will be played at Willowbrook in Manchester on October 8th and 9th.
See Monday’s edition for more details.
