Volleyball suffers pair of losses

The Warriorette volleyball team found the going tough last week, dropping both their matches, on Tuesday and Thursday.
The Warriorettes lost a non-district match to Livingston, on Tuesday, and then were defeated by Soddy-Daisy, on Thursday, inside Roy Sewell Gymnasium.
The Warriorettes dropped three straight, on Tuesday, against Livingston, falling 25-22, 25-18, and 25-21. Lauren Turner led the Warriorettes with three kills and five blocks.
On Thursday night, the Warriorettes would drop the match in three straight games. The Warriorettes would lose the first game 25-19. In the second game, the Warriorettes would keep the game close and force it to go into extra points but would fall 27-25. In the final game, the Warriorettes would fall to Soddy-Daisy 25-13.
The losses move the Warriorettes’ record to 4-8 on the season and 1-4 in District 6AAA play. The Warriorettes will return to action on both Monday and Tuesday of this week. On Monday, the Warriorettes will travel Clarkrange. On Tuesday, they will head to Cookeville. Both games are scheduled for a 6 p.m. start time. The Warriorettes were also scheduled to travel to Rhea County, on Thursday, but due to Pistol’s Homecoming Parade, the Warriorettes have rescheduled that game for Sept. 20
