Walter Allen Howard Sr. passed away Aug. 2, 2018, at a local hospital.
He was preceded in death by his father and mother, Sam and Della Howard.
He left behind two sons, Walter Allen (LaDonna) Howard and George Scott (Michele) Howard, along with several grandchildren.
He was a member of First Baptist Church, of Georgetown, Tennessee. He loved cooking and sharing his meals with others. He was multi-talented and loved bluegrass music. He was able to play an array of instruments as well as writing music. He was well respected in the music community for his musical abilities and his willingness to teach others. We fondly remember his enthusiastic phrase “fantastic” when asked “how are you doing?” only a few days before passing. Allen has left a real vacancy in our musical community.
He was devoted Christian and spent much time studying the Bible and witnessing for the Lord. Allen will be greatly missed by his family and friends.
A graveside service was Aug. 6, 2018, at Saylors Cemetery, in White County. Pastor Earl Farris officiated.
Charitable contributions may be given to the First Baptist Church of Georgetown.
Companion Funeral and Cremation Service was in charge of arrangements.
