The White County High School Warriors travel to Crossville, on Aug. 30, to take the field against the Cumberland County Jets.

The Warriors are coming off a big home win, on Aug. 23, against Cannon County, and this week the team has been preparing for the Jets.  The Jets are coming off a huge loss at the hands of Scott County by a score of 42-6.

Cumberland County High School is under the direction of new head coach Eric Belew, and there are still some unknowns about the team.  The Jet team runs a spread type offensive system that the Warriors have been preparing for.  The Jets only managed one touchdown against Scott County, which was on a special teams play on the first kickoff of the season.  Senior Ronald Martin returned the kickoff 92 yards to paydirt.  The Jet offense was only able to move the ball 43 yards on offense all night.  CCHS came into the game at 0-1, while the Warriors are 1-0.

The Warriors will carry the momentum and the win as they travel up the mountain, and they are asking the community to come and enjoy the game, while supporting the Warrior football team.  Game time is set for 7 p.m. on the campus of Cumberland County High School.

I think after last week’s game, there is an excitement about warrior football that hasn’t been seen in quite a while. I think hiring coach Frasier was the best move they have made in a long time.
