Despite the rising temperatures outside and a lot of warm gymnasiums, in Cookeville and Lebanon, the Warriorettes’ basketball team competed at day camps hosted by Tennessee Tech and Lebanon High School.
Both WCHS teams, the Warriorette varsity and junior varsity, were in action over the course of the two days of camp.
At Tennessee Tech, the Warriorettes’ varsity struggled, going 1-2, on Monday. The Warriorettes were without a potential starter for the camp. Rising sophomore guard Gracie Dodgen missed the camp with an injury she suffered last week at Middle Tennessee State University.
On Tuesday, the Warriorettes took part in the Lebanon High School Lady Blue Devils’ camp and returned to their winning ways. The Warriorettes would go 2-0 on the day, picking up wins over Portland and Gallatin.
The Warriorettes will finish up their week traveling to MTSU for a few final days of camp. The Warriorettes will have one more full week of camps before they have to take part in the TSSAA mandated dead period that begins June 24 and ends on July 6. After the dead period, the Warriorettes can still have conditioning and weight training during July.
