The White County High School Warriors will play host to region opponent Lincoln County Falcons, on Thursday night, on Dee Harris Field. The game was moved up this week. This week, the Warriors will have Thursday night lights instead of Friday.
This will only be the second time the Warriors and Lincoln County have ever met each other on the gridiron. Last year, the Falcons picked up the win over the Warriors by a final score of 45-6.
Lincoln County sits at 2-5 on the season and 1-2 on in region play. The Falcons opened up the season with a 2-0 record picking up wins over Lawrence County 37-6 and Columbia by a final score of 23-22. However, the Falcons have dropped their last five games to Giles County, Shelbyville, Tullahoma, Page, and Nolensville.
The Falcons are also coming off a tough loss. The Falcons lost last week to Nolensville 42-3, and their quarterback Jake Sorrells went out with an injury. The Falcons were only able to accumulate 115 total yards of offense, with 51 coming on the ground and 64 coming through the air.
Last week, the Warriors finished the night with 177 yards of total offense. They finished with 104 yards on the ground and 73 yards through the air. The Warriors’ offense seems to be improving each week. The Warriors will look to continue to develop this week on that side of the ball and keep their defense on the sideline resting.
On Thursday night, the Warriors will look to do something they have been unable to do in their last 21 contests – walk off the field with a win. The Warriors will look to use their home field to do that. The game will be played on Dee Harris field, with kickoff at 7 p.m., on Thursday night.
