WCHS is hosting District 6AAA volleyball tourney

The volleyball teams of District 6AAA will converge on Roy Sewell Gymnasium, on Oct. 1 and Oct. 2, for the district tournament

There will be three games, on Oct. 1, with championship games slated for 5 p.m., on Oct. 2. The top two teams from the district tournament will advance to the Region 3AAA tournament.

The Warriorettes will open play in the tournament at 4 p.m., Oct. 1, against Warren County. The winner of that game will take on Cookeville, at 6 p.m., Oct. 1. The game between those two games will be between Rhea County and Soddy-Daisy, at 5 p.m.

The winners of the Rhea County-Soddy Daisy game and the winner of the Cookeville-Warren/White game will play at 5 p.m., Oct. 2, to decide the 6AAA winner.

The Warriorettes come into the tournament on a three-game win streak. The Warriorettes picked up their third straight win, on Thursday, against Coffee County High School, at Roy Sewell Gymnasium. The Warriorettes would win the match 2-1 (19-25, 25-21, and 25-19). Hannah Kate Sims led the Warriorettes with nine kills. Lauren Turner finished with eight kills and four blocks.

With the win, the Warriorettes finish their season with an 8-11 record.
