As everyone switches back to the regular time and darkness descends much earlier than during the summer months, it’s a perfect time to head inside for some basketball.
The White County High School Warrior and Warriorette season openers are just less than a week away.
The teams will open up the season at Roy Sewell Gymnasium when they host Siegel High School for a Hall of Fame game against the Stars and Lady Stars, on Nov. 13. Tip-off for that game is set for 6 p.m. WCHS will then hit the road, on Nov. 16 when they travel to Athens to take on McMinn County. That game is scheduled to tip off at 5 p.m. CST.
Both the Warriors and Warriorettes have been getting in plenty of practice time, and each has had a scrimmage. Both teams will wrap up this week with their final scrimmages before the season opener.
The Warriors will head to Livingston Academy, on Nov. 8, to take on the host school and Monterey High School. The Warriors will take on Livingston, at 4 p.m., with Monterey to follow directly after.
The Warriorettes will welcome 20 high school teams from across the area to Sparta, on Nov. 10, for their final tune-up of the pre-season. Games will start at 8 a.m., in five different gyms, and run all day.
