Taking control. Warriorette sophomore soccer player, Raleigh Dale, shields off a DeKalb County player and controls the ball during the win over the Lady Tigers Thursday. The soccer team hosts Warren County for a District 7AAA contest Tuesday and then travels to Riverdale Thursday. They wrap up the week with a home game against Lebanon Saturday.

The battle is on. Warriorette senior captain, Chelsea Sims, battles a Dekalb County player for control of the ball during Thursday’s game which WCHS won 2-0. Sims, who just recently became the all-time WCHS leading scorer, scored both goals.

The Warriorettes came into Thursday night’s game 0-2 on the season and entered their game against the DeKalb County Lady Tigers hoping to change their streak of bad luck.
The match started out with both teams’ defense taking control. The game was scoreless until 10 minutes into the first half. Senior striker Chelsea Sims broke through the Lady Tigers’ defense to put the Warriorettes on top 1-0.
The Tigers put Warriorette goalkeeper, Reanna Young, to the test but she let nothing by her. The defenses still had control of the game while the Warriorettes continued trying to find the back of the net.   They padded their lead when, with seven minutes remaining in the game, Chelsea Sims once again snuck by the defense to put another one past the Tigers’ goalkeeper putting the Warriorettes up 2-0.
Young kept the Lady Tigers scoreless picking up the shutout while Chelsea Sims netted two goals to lead the Warriorettes to a 2-0 victory.
WCHS traveled to Murfreesboro for a rare Friday night game and took on the Siegel Lady Stars.  The Warriorettes had a tough outing against the District 7AAA foe as Siegel rolled to the 7-0 victory.
The Warriorettes will be back in action Tuesday when they host the Warren County Lady Pioneers in a 6 p.m. District 7AAA contest.
