White County Middle School Warriors want to thank Luna and Son Tire, Jeff’s Body Shop, and Frasier Properties for chartering the Warriors to and from Franklin County this week. The Warriors defeated North Franklin 40-12 and will have their first home game at 6:30 p.m., Sept. 4, at Dee Harris Field vs. Tullahoma.

The White County Middle football team picked up its first win of the season, on Aug. 28, when they traveled to Winchester to take on the Gators of North Franklin Middle School. The Warriors won the game by a final score of 40-12.

The Gators would receive the opening kick-off and drive the ball down to the Warriors’ two-yard line. The Warriors’ defense would hang strong and keep the Gators out of the end zone.

The Warriors would take over the ball, and, on their second play of the drive, Malaki Dowell would find a seam and take the ball 98 yards for the touchdown to get the Warriors the first score of the evening and give the Warriors a 6-0 lead.

North Franklin would waste little time, as they would tie the game up at 6-6 on their new drive.

However, from there the Warriors would take over the game, as they would go on to score the games next 20 points. This included another long touchdown run by Dowell, a gritty touchdown run by quarterback Owen Adams, and a 40-yard touchdown pass from Adams to Nate Mullins. The Warriors would head into the locker room with a 26-6 lead at the half.

In the second half, Dowell would score on the first play to push the Warriors lead to 32-6. After a Gators’ touchdown would cut the Warriors’ lead to 32-12, the Warriors would score their final touchdown of the night when Kobe Jones recovered a fumble in the end zone. The Warriors would win by a final score of 40-12.

With the win, the Warriors move to 1-2 on the season. The Warriors will host their first home game of the season at 6:30 p.m., on Tuesday night, against Tullahoma. The Warriors will be celebrating Ultimate Warrior night by honoring the late Jake Morris. The Warriors are asking all the fans at the game to wear something with the number 62 on it. If you wear something with 62 on it, your name will go into a drawing for a free month at Sparta Fitness.
