WCMS golf team comes away with two victories in matches last week

The White County Middle School golf team took the course twice last week coming away with wins in both of their matches. On April 4, the Warriors got the win in a three-team match. The Warriors took on Prescott South and Upperman Middle School. In their other match last week, the Warriors defeated Warren County.

In the April 4 match, the Warriors finished the day shooting a team total of 179. Prescott South finished in second place shooting a 207 and Upperman finished with a 222.

Jarrett Glass had the low round for the Warriors finishing with a 38. T.J. Warner finished with a 42. Tanner Bumbalough came away with a 46, and Dylan Nelson finished his round with a 53. Jeremiah Gardenhire, whose score didn’t play into the total, also finished with a 55.

The Warriorettes’ golf team also came away with the victory as they finished their round with a total score of 114. Upperman Middle School ended with a team total of 124.

Morgan Quick had the low round for the Warriorettes as she shot a 53. Maria Templeton finished her round with a 61.

In their second match of the week, the Warriors defeated Warren County Middle School.

Glass again finished with the low round to lead the Warriors. He finished his round with a 44. Warner came in second finishing with a 45. Nelson shot a 47. Gardenhire came away with a 57, and Ty Randolph shot a 59.

The Warriorettes, however, were defeated by Warren County by five strokes. Quick was the only Warriorette to play on the day. She finished with a 51.
