White County hosts playday on Saturday

The White County High School Warriorettes’ basketball team will host its annual playday, on Nov. 11. The Warriorettes are welcoming 20 area teams to come in for one final tune-up before the high school basketball season kicks off next week.

Games will be played in three different locations, with a total of five gyms being used. The playday will take place at White County High School, White County Middle School, and Northfield Elementary School. The event is scheduled to go from 8 a.m. to some time around 7 p.m., with 38 games scheduled to be played.

The Warriorettes will take part in the event, with the junior varsity team scheduled to play first at 8 a.m. against Trousdale County, at White County Middle School. The Warriorettes’ J.V. team will play its second and final game, at 10 a.m., at the White County High School’s Auxiliary Gym against Hardin Valley.

The Warriorettes are scheduled to play their first game, at noon, against Shelbyville. The game will be played at Roy Sewell Gymnasium. The Warriorettes will wrap up their games at 3 p.m. when they take on Marion County, at White County Middle School.

Van Buren County High School will also be participating in the playday. The Eaglettes are scheduled to play three games, on Saturday. Their first game is scheduled for 8 a.m. inside Roy Sewell Gymnasium against Livingston Academy. The Eaglettes will then play Grundy County, at 10 a.m., at Northfield Elementary School. The Eaglettes will finish their day against Marion County, at 1 p.m. That game will be played in WCMS Auxiliary Gym.

Admission for this event is $5 per person, and any child 8 and under gets in free.
