The White County Middle School Warrior football team picked up its second win of the season, on Tuesday night, when they played host to the Tullahoma Wildcats.

Tullahoma opened up the game with the ball. The Warriors’ defense opened up the game strong and held the Wildcats to a turnover on downs and took over the ball around midfield.

On third down, the Warriors’ Malaki Dowell would find some running room and go 57 yards, with 5:10 remaining in the first quarter. Dowell would also run in the two-point conversion to make the score 8-0.

After the Warriors’ defense forced another turnover on downs, Dowell found the end zone again from 12 yards out after a long pass play when Owen Adams found Nate Mullins. The Warriors would lead Tullahoma 14-0.

On Tullahoma’s next series, they would fumble the ball, and the Warriors would recover the fumble. Dowell again would lead the Warriors’ offense into the end zone from 73 yards out this time, with 7:48 remaining in the half, to give the Warriors a 20-0 lead.

After Tullahom turned the ball over on downs in their next series, Dowell would find the end zone for the Warriors for the fourth time on the night. This time, he would scamper in from two yards out, with 3:15 remaining in the half to make it 26-0.

Dowell would score his final touchdown of the first on Tullahoma’s next offensive series. He would intercept the Wildcat’s pass and return it 40 yards for the score to put the Warriors up 32-0, with 2:48 remaining in the first half.

The Warriors’ Braxton Seibers would intercept Tullahoma on their final drive of the half to preserve the Warriors’ shutout in the first half.

In the second half, the Warriors would be outscored 14-8 by the Wildcats. However, the Warriors would pick up the win by a final score of 40-14.

With the win, the Warriors move to 2-2 on the season. The Warriors will remain at home next week when they take on Harris Middle School, on Sept. 11. The Warriors will be celebrating Red, White, and Blue Night. Wear red, white, and blue and come out and support the Warriors.
