The White County Middle School baseball team took home a 6-3 victory over Stone Memorial, on April 14.

The Warriors took the lead for good with five runs in the third inning. In the third, Trent Pryor singled to drive in the first run for the Warriors. Tucker Nash would then hit a groundball that the Stone shortstop couldn’t handle, scoring two more runs for the Warriors giving the Warriors the 3-1 lead. D.J. Paul would then come up and double to left field scoring Nash to extend the Warriors lead to 4-1. Grant Slatten would then come up and hit a sacrifice fly to score Paul and give the Warriors the 5-1 lead.

The Warriors would go on to get another run in the fourth to extend their lead to 5-1. Stone would inch closer in the top of the fifth inning scoring two runs, but Paul would come in and get the final two outs for the Warriors and secure the win and get the save for the Warriors.

Slatten earned the win for the Warriors. He threw two innings, allowing one run (0 earned), one hit, striking out three and walking one. Nash came in relief and threw two and a third innings, giving up three hits, two runs (0 earned), striking out one, and walking two.
