The overall Niche grade was a B. According to the report, the White County school district was given an above average grade. It went on to say this:

“It has 4,047 students in grades PK, K-12 with a student-teacher ratio of 16 to 1. According to state test scores, 62 percent of students are at least proficient in math and 28 percent in reading,” stated the report.

Niche ranks schools and districts based on statistics. Other grades that White County received were as follows:

-Best places to teach in Tennessee #7 out of 127

-Safest school districts in Tennessee #11 out of 130

Director of Schools Kurt Dronebarger stated he is extremely proud of the White County schools, administrators, teachers, and staff for the way they serve students every day. He explained that, while not perfect, they will always work hard to help students succeed and to make White County proud. He would like to also remind people that White County High School has been recognized by US News two years in a row as a Bronze Level Awards School.

“White County truly has an amazing school system, and it is certainly nice to be recognized on a state and national level,” said Dronebarger. “This ranking is proof that you can get a quality education, in White County, if you choose. Our educational philosophy of ‘love kids, work hard, and pursue excellence’ is not just something we say, it is the driving force behind how we perform each day.”
